This beloved sitcom has been on air since 2013 and captures suburban family life in a relatable way, albeit undeniably Norwegian.  Jonas and Marie are happily in love and are just settling into their new home in the fictional town of Granli, Østfold. The idyllic suburb seems, or rather quickly seemed, like the place to take their next steps until they meet their neighbors, the quirky Pedersen family and the affluent Kopperud family. Each 20-minute episode tests the neighbors’ persistence and the new residents’ relationship. 

Participants will watch 2-3 episodes per week at home. Every other class period will introduce the coming episodes with new vocabulary, and we'll discuss the previous episode. As 100 episodes are currently broadcast, the course will focus on season 5 & beyond, and draw from the subsequent. This course is intended for a range of learners in the B1/C2 levels.
