Join us as we read Når plutselig en natt, a collection of atmospheric Christmas short stories set in the Kongsvinger area. The Christmas stories are both poignant and poetic, and they are characterized by Levi Henriksen's unmistakable warm, slightly shaky look at people on the outskirts : The tragic and melancholic are mixed with humor and levity.
This class is designed for learners who seek a challenge and desire to actively engage in language learning through speaking, reading and writing at the A2/B1 Elementary to Intermediate level. There will be many opportunities to engage in conversation, grammar exercises, vocabulary development, and special projects.

Join us as we read Skråpånatta, an epic novel about a rural community and Norway on the brink of war–a story of the passage of generations, of betrayal and of an aging priest trapped by the prophecy of his own death. A new generation at Hekne has inherited the obsessions of their ancestors and senses that the omens of the Hekne Tapestry are soon to be fulfilled–among them the prophecy of Skråpånatta, the night of doom that, according to the local folklore, will mark the final day of the known world.
Each week we will work through the novel using targeted vocabulary lists and discussion tasks — progressively building reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Norwegian. This class is designed for learners at the B1/B2 intermediate to upper intermediate level.

Bob Oz, the hero of Jo Nesbø’s 2025 Riverton Prize winning novel Minnesota, is investigating a crime that reminds him all too much of an old case that haunts him even though he has been suspended. Nesbø set Minnesota in 2016 and combines hardkokt crime with political and social commentary. This class is conducted in Norwegian.
